34 | Why I’m Starting a Podcast

In 8 months I’ve interviewed 20 exceptional individuals, comprising of Forbes 30U30 leaders, TEDx Speakers, Best-Selling Authors and LinkedIn Top Voices.

What do they all have in common?

  1. They don’t care about the titles. Accolades are a by-product of caring about the people they want to impact.

  2. They don’t just dream big. They actually turn those dreams into reality.

And it’s not by “luck” – although a lot of them create their own. It’s their habits, mindsets, and values that keep their behaviours aligned with their biggest goals.

The dream often begins with experiencing a problem in the world that they need to fix for themselves. Then, they fix it for the people around them. And after obsessing over it for nights on end… a

  • 1 million dollar company emerges from the shadows, or

  • 1 million people benefit from it, or

  • a single person’s life is now 1 million times better.

So, I’ve become obsessed with delving into the biggest dreams of these exceptional individuals, and understanding how they made, or are currently making their dream(s) come true. Sharing their stories with you through my writing has been super rewarding, but I want to give you more.

A vehicle beyond just words. A vehicle that gives faces to the names on the ex-vicarious road…a vehicle that revs their voices straight into your eardrums.

If I haven’t made it obvious enough – I’m starting a podcast.

But this doesn’t mean the Q&As will stop. Here’s how my interviews with the world’s brightest dreamakers will find their way to you going forward:

  • Every week, I’ll be releasing a podcast interview with a dreamaker. That’s a founder, creator or game-changer who is turning their dreams into reality.

  • My favourite answers or talking points from the podcast will be synthesised into the short, weekly Q&A.

  • Mini biographies will be on a temporary hiatus.

Who can you expect on the podcast?

People who own delicious food chains, founders of 7-figure companies who now help others do the same, people who have directed music videos for the biggest Australian hip-hop artists and worldwide brands, builders in AI, and with everything going on in Paris right now, we couldn’t leave out Olympians, could we?

But the only name I can give you right now is for my first episode, where I go far deeper into my “why” with ex-vicarious and the podcast.

The debut will be with no one other than my mate, Jeffrey Tse, who pushed me the hardest to start the podcast. I also have the privilege of delving into his life journey – from being a high-school high-achiever, to moving rurally and studying medicine whilst building his own chemistry tutoring program (Catalyst Chemistry).

As the former Vice Captain at Sydney Grammar who ranked 1st in his school in Chemistry, he led his own cohort of students to an average ATAR of 98.30 just last year. In other words, if you want to be in the top 1.7% of students in NSW, hitting up Jeff is a pretty good place to start.

We also delved into putting yourself out there through content creation (check out his many 100k+ views TikToks here), networking with confidence as an introvert, and tennis coaching.

I can’t wait for you to listen – and for everyone who’s read all the way down here, thank you. I appreciate you for real.

Until next week,

Keep dreamaking.
